Oledo is a name from the Ibo tribe in Nigeria for girls meaning Beautiful jewel or Precious gem or Gold.
My 2 little girls Nesochi & Nefechi inspired this new clothing line. If you haven’t heard of them already, they are the duo that keep my hands messy and my heart full of joy! Neso is 30 months old and Nefe is 8.5 months old. Those two!!! Phew! From the early morning smiles they give me when they wake up, to running after Neso the entire day; telling her 100 times to stop jumping on the couch (sighs), to the super-why and super simple and baby shark and badanamu songs we sing together at the top of our lungs, to the endless diaper changes, and the snuggles I get after reading them bedtime stories and tucking them in bed at night, these two girls are the lights of my life! I cannot imagine my life without them in it! Seriously! They are my precious jewels; my Oledo!
I wanted clothes they could wear and look and feel pretty in. Dresses that represented their culture in a very trendy way. These clothes were designed for every little priceless jewel; every little person whom you love and would give anything and everything for. Oledo is for them.
It has different styles for different girls. The Princess Shuri dress, for example, is a yellow stunner that you can’t miss! Complete with beads and pearls and fluffiness that will make the clouds green with envy, this is one outfit that we took our time to make! There’s also the Bella Ankara x Jean romper for a uniquely beautiful, yet somewhat casual look. I absolutely love this one and I can already imagine my little girls wearing them. I hope yours get to run around this summer wearing them as well.
The line launches on the 22nd of June! In about 3 weeks!!
The items are also available for pre-order exclusively to people on our email list before the launch date. You can get ahead of the line; just holler at us here: email@example.com
Before I leave you, here’s a quote I have been pondering on:
“You don’t just love your children, you fall in love with them. It’s that same rush, that same overwhelming desire to see them, to hold them, to bore other people to tears with every detail about them…” ― Frasier Crane
Here’s to every little Oledo that’s on your mind right now! May we raise them to be the queens they were born to be!!
With lots of love & gratitude,
